About Me

I'm Dr. Amanda Steffen Reilly, a passionate, Cincinnati-based veterinarian who offers mobile acupuncture and Chinese Medicinal treatments alongside Western medicine.

I strive to provide exceptional veterinary care, promoting the graceful aging and pain-free lives of animals, and advocating for animal welfare.

Acupuncture allows me to help my patients in a way that agrees with my values of Fear Free Medicine

I am continuously amazed at the healing properties of acupuncture in pets:

  • with disorders that are not responsive to Western medicine or have stopped responding to Western treatment options,

  • with diseases that do not have a Western medicine treatment option, such as Degenerative Myelopathy,

  • And when used in conjunction with Western medicine to further comfort levels or lengthen/improve quality of life.

With a Bachelor of Science from the University of South Carolina Aiken and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Tennessee, I provide comprehensive care to animals. I obtained acupuncture licensing from the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society, enabling me to offer holistic care and promote well-being. As an advocate for aging pets, I share extensive knowledge of their care on my social media platforms.

Beyond the walls of the clinic, I share my life with a senior shelter pitbull mix and a middle-aged rescue French Bulldog, who continually remind me of the joys and responsibilities that come with caring for aging pets. They have been incredible companions, enriching my understanding of the unique needs and challenges that senior animals may face.

Let's journey together toward healing, empathy, and education for our beloved animal companions.

-Dr. Amanda

I have always felt a special connection with senior pets and their needs.  In dealing with my personal senior pets and my patients, I realized that we can often run out of options in Western medicine to help these pets.  I decided to further my education by studying acupuncture and traditional Chinese veterinary medicine.  In my studies, I learned the amazing effects that acupuncture can have on pets of all ages and the multitude of problems it can help with.  I truly believe that the integration of Western and traditional Chinese Medicine will be the place where we make true changes for our furry family members.

My Why

(Floyd’s Story)

Floyd was my heart-dog. I rescued him from a suspected dog fighting situation in South Carolina when I was in college. We had 10 beautiful years together. Floyd taught me patience, kindness, unconditional love, and pure happiness. He made me into the person and vet that I am today.  He was everyone's best friend and a blanket of comfort to anyone who knew his love.  He gave me grace when I was learning life throughout my 20s.  He dealt with LONG days alone while I was in vet school and always greeted me with the same wagging tail and happy face.  Floyd was there when I met my husband and for the birth of our daughter.

Floyd suffered from arthritis at an early age due to his large size.  We did all that we could to keep him comfortable.  As he continued to age, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor and we did everything we could to keep him with us for as long as possible, from radiation therapy and surgery, to supplements and rehab therapy.  We helped Floyd cross the Rainbow Bridge in 2021 and there is not a single day that goes by that I do not recognize some part of my life where he has made a positive impact.

The only regret that I have from Floyd's life on this earth is that I did not know the full spectrum of options to help him.  I truly believe Acupuncture would have given me more time with Floyd.  I believe that we always do the best with the information that we have at any given point so I will not dwell on this.

Instead, I will think of him each day that I am able to give more quality time to a family and their pet.

Fast forward to now: Floyd’s Tale, Mobile Veterinary Acupuncture, was launched in memory of my sweet boy. It allows me to honor his life and all of the beautiful moments he gave to this world.  I vow to run this business with the grace, kindness, and pureness that Floyd gave me.  Floyd’s memory lives on in each and every one of the patients I now get the honor of helping through the treatment of acupuncture and other Chinese Medicines. My practice is meant to work in conjunction with Western Medicine, and rest assured, I will work closely with you and your other veterinarians to ensure the best treatments for your pets.

As I know so well, our animals are our family members.

In loving memory of Floyd…

The memories and bond shared with Floyd will always be cherished and he will forever be remembered as a faithful friend who brought joy and happiness to our days. Although he is no longer with us, his spirit continues to live on in our hearts, and we find solace in the love and memories we shared with him.
